I recently installed XP and tried to install and use an older version of Easy CD Creator. After realizing that it was not compatible, I uninstalled it and now I do not see either of my cd rom drives. When accessing the device manager, I see the following error:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Can anyone tell me how to get these drives recognized again without reformatiting the C: drive?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS. :)

Try a right click on My Computer and select Properties/Hardware/Device Manager and see if the drive is listed. If so, right click on the listed drive and select Properties/Driver(tab)/RollBack Driver. HTH :)
