I, am currently running windows xp pro. and have bought a cd-rw gce 8160b. I ran the proper upgrade downloads for easy cd creator 5.02 to work with this operating system. My problem now is that my burner is a 16x write but it will only write at 8x in this software as well as clonecd software. Both programs only give me an 8x option. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appriciated.

I've already done all the correct ungrades to the cd creator software, in the proper order, (including many re-starts). I have searched for different hardware upgrades, but have been unsucessful, guess I'll keep trying unless anyone else has any ideas.
Thanks for your responce any way, and let me know if you think of anything else.

I have swapped to these same two progs for burning since going to XP and they are both OK at 24 speed here.

Two things that come to mind are either you brought an eight speed burner or your using a CD-RW disk.

    Just to confirm something basic.

Are you using an RW Disc?

If yes, what is the speed rating of the Disc your using. They vary, from 2 - 4 - 8 - 10X to "all speeds ". Whatever the speed rating, that's the speed your going to burn at no matter what your Burner is capable of.

    Regards - Charles
