This topic will be of interest only to members who have installed and use CCleaner v.4.19.4867 (64bit) in my case Professional version.
In the right bottom of the screen, a caption pops up showing an update is available. However as a precaution check with CCleaner icon "check for updates" this shows installed copy is current. I just ignore what to me is not from CCleaner and probably a hack! It would however be interesting to learn of other members' views. Thanks Bobby.

I use the plain old FREE one and when there is an update, it pops a window open and tells me there is an update.

    Under Options > Settings

Tick or do not tick "Automatically check for updates to CCleaner "

    Under Options > Monitoring

Tick or do not tick "Enable Active Monitoring "

    Your choices determine CCleaner notifications.

What I was pointing out, plain caption with writing CCleaner informs user that an upgrade is available, whilst CCleaner official site states no upgrade is available for download. I did try on the first occasion and it downloaded/presumed installed showing same version number as currently installed.

I certainly agree the free version of CCleaner is as reliable as the paid version. However, it must be agreed that the compilers of this software deserve a monetary reward payment and indeed all upgrades. It is of course up to each user of CCleaner whether to buy or not.
