I have been capturing vhs tapes to hdd with Showbiz dvd 2, quite successfully, however now & again a tape is captured where the lip movements do not match the sound, it seems to playback ok in the preview pane, but gets out of sink when recording starts. most tapes capture ok, so one would perhaps think its the tape, not the hardware/software.
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanx

It'd be interesting to know if you tried a "bad" tape a second time and got the same results.

yes I have tried the same tape twice, not the whole thing, a couple of minutes only was enough to confirm that it wasn't going to work, must be the tape, surely hardware/software can't fail that intermittently? thanx for response

I'm guessing that if the tape drags/pauses for a split second the whole thing could get out of sync.
