Sometime in the last month or 2 I lost the ability to view videos on ESPN. Prior to that it worked fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player for both IE and Firefox. When I go to this page http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ It tells me that I have the latest version of Flash Player for both browsers. I CAN view videos on You Tube. This page http://webupon.com/web-design/when-...line-nastimations-for-your-perverse-pleasure/ has test Flash videos and I can watch and interact with them. Any thoughts?

Shockwave Flash Object Flash10I.ocx is enabled. I disabled it and the Adobe site didn't show it as being installed.

I installed HostsMan and the MVPS hosts file recently and this turned out to be the problem. I disabled it and was then able to view the videos. Now I just need to figure out which hosts file is blocking the videos.

That's why I think it is a dumb idea to use a hosts file.

This file was never meant to be used for blocking web sites.

I don't think my problem is solved. I have to disable the hosts file to watch the videos. If I knew which line in the hosts file was blocking the videos I could comment it out. There are just too many to go through 1 by 1 and see if it fixes the problem. I don't understand why you dislike the hosts file? If it blocks a lot of the bad sites, what's not to like? The MVPS hosts file seems to be pretty well respected by a lot of reputable people and sites.

Yes it is. Reset the host file to default & you're good to go!
