I recently upgraded to xp proffesional from win98se. I use mulitilink to combine 2 usb supramax dial up modems( no broadband available). When I upgraded I lost the use of my second modem. I've reinstalled the driver, checked for conflicts, changed com ports, and swapped positions of modems on usb ports (I have 4 on comp). If I change usb ports the 2nd modem may begin working but then the first doesn't. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

Have you checked with tech support for supramax to see if they support this yet for XP? You may need a firmware upgrade; there may be a special ini string to use; they may not support it at all.

the company that makes the supramax is Diamond who have been bought out. They haven't updated thier firmware, or bios's since 2000. I'm using a win2k driver, but it works fine as long as there's only 1 modem, not for 2, but thanks for the suggestion!

The old 2920 supramax USB V90(nonV92) does work with Windows XP.
1.Download the Windows XP drivers for the V92 version modem from ftp://ftp.diamondmm.com/pub/communi...x/sup2920/supramax-usb_beta_winxp_172-044.exe
    2. Then install the modem as per instructions. Extract drivers, plug in modem and direct wizard to drivers at c:/supra to install drivers. Don't forget to uninstall any old drivers you tried first.
    3. Go to START and CONTROL PANEL and PHONE AND MODEMS. Then click on MODEM folder, click PROPERTIES and ADVANCED. Type in: at+ms=34,0 in Extra Initialisation Commands.
This slows the modem down to 33.6 levels, but just to see if dualie will work...........
    :p

Thanks rOtt3n1!!!! that worked, sorta! I didn't think that driver would work cause its for the v92 version of my modem & mines the v90 & you cant upgrade the firmware. I figured I mine as well try it tho cause nothing else worked. After I installed those drivers both modems powered on together for the first time but I couldn't dial out. Tried your initialization string & still nothing. found out cause my modem is a v90 I could use this string to force v90: AT&F+MR=1;+MS=V90 or to force V34 use: AT&F+MR=1;+MS=V34. But you did get me on the right track kudos!!!!
