cant shutdown windows sp3

    Upon clicking shutdown or restart, everything gets closed.
    The icons on the desktop disappears.
    Then it stops there.

    All i see is just my wallpaper and the comp wont shutdown.

    This happened after i installed many programs so i really have no idea what caused this problem.

    Did you install the programs all at once?

    Why not uninstall them one by one to see which has caused the problem.

    If this doesn't help - try a system restore prior to when the problem occurred. Neil.
