Can't set up mail account in 8.0.1

I hate to be a bore here. It seems as everyone is having a hard time. I just can not set up the mail account in the new 8.0.1 Netscape. I use Bellsouth as my main email account. When I change the drop down from Netscape to other the screen changes. I type the url as mail.lig.bellsouth.net, but this will not work. That is what 7.2 had. Now since I have installed 8.0.1 I can even download mail in 7.2. It says I need write previlege. I move old folders to desk top for inbox. Deleted everything else. Reopen Netscape 7.2 but still the same. Can you help me out.

Netscape 8.0.1 is a browser only, and no Mail client included. I would suggest using Thunderbird as your Mail Client.

I made an interesting discovery, yesterday, after struggling through the entire beta. Yes, as Ramona says, a mail client is needed, and, NS8 should have a link, in a form of an envelope from View|Customize|System Mail, which can be dragged onto a toolbar. Some people reported having it, but I did not have it, at all. In the beta version this feature was elusive but Mail could be accessed from Tools. In the final version, they did away with this, and, probably, since I had imported the beta settings, with the toolbar image.
But, there is a solution. In Customize, there is a Reset all to default button, and what do you know, there is a System Mail button in the Personal list. But, unlike other buttons, there is only one chance to get it. You move it and you lose it .
And, you cannot have System Mail in two of the multibars, like I have Weather.
The same is true of the Webmail button. Klutzy!!
