Can't send webcam images to my friend on AIM

My friend and I both have WinXP, AIM 5.5 and broadband connections. I have a webcam; she doesn't. I want to send her my webcam image, but the webcam button is grayed out in the message box when I chat with her.

I had her look in her preferences to enable it under live video, but she said that menu item's not there. I was under the impression that if a person had XP and AIM 5.5, they're able to get webcam images.

Does she need to have a webcam in order to see a feed from mine? In MSNM, the recipient of the feed doesn't need one of their own. Perhaps AIM's different?

No. Thanks for asking. I can send cam images to some people on my list, but not others. This buddy had the latest version of AIM and WinXP, so it should've worked.

Have you taken a gander through any of their trouble shooters? I did a quick glance at one and found this:

It's not really a matter of images not appearing. The webcam icon is grayed out in my chat window. I can't even click on it.

I'll try that. It's really not a big deal because now she has Yahoo's messenger and I've never had webcam trouble with that.
