    I can't send e-mails !?! (I CAN get 'em , tho)

I get the following message; An unknown error has occurred. "Protocol SMTP, Port 0, Secure (SSL): No, error number 0x800C0131. "

I called my service provider and they walked me thru a reset. No luck.

When I open O.E. (v6) and go to my "sent" folder, I get this window: "Folder could not be displayed. Outlook Express could not open this folder. Possible causes: Low Disk Space; Low Memory. "

That's really strange since I've opened up at least 2 gigs thru all the cleaning out ya'll helped me do. I don't know about the memory...

    Any ideas?

    Give this a shot perhaps?
Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
In the Named box, type folders.dbx.
In the Look In box, click your primary hard disk (usually drive C), and then click Find Now.
Right-click the Folders.dbx file, and then click Rename.
Type folders.old, and then click OK.
Start Outlook Express. This creates a new Folders.dbx file automatically.

Hmmm. So, as this problem seems to relate to the Sent Items Folder, do you think it could maybe be worthwhile applying the advice contained in your second link to the Sent Items (and maybe the Outbox too) .dbx?

I suppose I'd tell them to Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
In the Named box, type Sent Items.dbx.
In the Look In box, click your primary hard disk (usually drive C), and then click Find Now.
Right-click the Sent Items.dbx file, and then click Rename.
Type Sent Items.old, and then click OK.
Restart Outlook Express. This action automatically creates a new Sent Items.dbx file.

If it was you........my advice would be to flash the bios of your mouse! :p

It always irritates me that ISPs always are quick to blame your computer and the problem is never on their end. But you can try repairing IE via the control panel, add/remove programs, highlight IE, click add/remove, then select repair. OE is integrated with IE. I believe that they meant to try and rename each individual folder one at a time..Post back good or bad.
