I don't often email attachments but I just discovered that 2 emails I sent out with attachments (45kb and 95kb) show Sent but were never received. There was no indication at the time of sending of any problem.

Regular emails were received ok by the same addresses.

I talked to TW/Roadrunner and they showed me how to check my mail server and nothing was held there. Also they had me send an attachment to myself from their server site and it arrived ok.

Is there some setting in my IE8/OE6 that can fix this problem?

When you check your Sent Items folder do those specific emails show the attachment?

Odds are the attachemnts are getting stripped out on the other end. Are you sending to a business address? Do you have a friend somewhere else you can test send to?

The messages appear in my Sent file complete with attachments which I can open.

I sent them to myself and my wife and they never show up in any form.

I checked the RR server after sending and there are no messages on their server either.

Messages w/o attachments show up fine within a couple of minutes.

I'm about ready to delete IE8 and reload it.

    Where did the messages go?

Check out your AV and disable outbound email scanning if that is an option.

Are you sending in HTML or plain text? Try switching and see if it makes any difference.

The messages would appear to be blocked outbound by your computer and are transferred to your Sent Items.

Another slight possibility, although this would seem unlikely as messages without attachments are sent without issue and messages with an attachment end up in the Sent Items folder, is a corrupted Outbox.

Unfortunately I no longer have a working copy of OE as I had to switch to Outlook when migrating from XP to 7.

Because of other problems as well, I deleted IE8 (and SP3 which also has to be deleted) and now I'm back to IE6.

    Everything works fine.

Thanks, I plan to try again to add IE8/SP3 in a little bit.
