    A few things

Be logged in with admin privileges on each computer.
Then try the following checking after each one.

.Temporally turn off all software firewalls (esp on Home machine). Frequently is the problem

.Start – My Computer – Tools - Folder Options – View (scroll down to bottom) and check Use Simple File Sharing. Reboot after this shouldn’t be necessary but sometimes helps.

.Unshare – then reShare - shared folders. (Haven’t come across any explanation of why this can work). But definitly sometimes absolutely is necessary after checking/unchecking the above.

.Scott Smith’s solution. Never had to do it but evidently it can work.

Have an identical Admin account on both machines set up, with same password. Don’t have to be logged into it as long as it’s there.

And of course. Start- run – cmd and type ipconfig /all and verify that 1st 3 octets of IP address is the same on both machines. xxx.xxx.xxx. ---
