The above error message greets me each time I boot Win XP Home. The message goes on to say "Insufficient memory to run this application. Quit one or more Windows progrms and try again. This problem follows an unsuccessful attempt to install a favorite DOS program [Managing Your Money V12]. I've since removed all locatable elements but the error message continues. Ram is 256mb and there is lots of memory left on the HD. How do I get rid of this annoying error message that comes up everytime I boot.

It sounds like it is still trying to start. Check your Start--> Programs--> Startup folder to see if it is trying to start from there and delete any shortcut.
If not, Run--> msconfig and see if it is there.
An alternative that helps you control startup programs is Startup Control Panel, here:

Did you try to run it in Win95 compatibility mode? That should work with most well-behaved 16bit apps and I think MYM was well written.

Install the program and then go to the shortcut. Click on the compatitility tab and pick Win95.
