When selecting restart from start menu PC begins process then after a blue screen saying windows is restarting a window pops up with only a button to shut off PC and just sets there until i press shut off PC. So cant use restart for some reason.
Thanks any help would be appreciated.

Hi Theraingaid, Welcome to WindowsBBS.:) More info please. Please take the time to fill in your System Details as this helps us to help you. What W10 are you using? 32/64 bit? Home/Pro etc. Does your comp start and run normally? What was the reason for using Restart? Has this been a recent upgrade? Was this a scheduled MS Restart after an update? Sometimes a simple disconnect of peripherals (printers, external drives etc.) and normal start may clear your problem. If your comp runs OK - have you used the Troubleshoot in Control Panel to check?

Sorry about that. W10 pro 64bit. everything else works fine no problems. only thing is when i click to restart computer it acts normally shutting down screen goes black like normal and then i get a blue screen with one button on it and it says shut off pc. That is it. I have not gotten the red stone update yet, just recently reinstalled w10 but every thing else is functioning perfectly. I was installing some programs so not sure if this was from MS update, since i re-installed win10 it has been updating. only peripheral i have is a external HDD and an external BD player i just disconnected i will try a reboot now. havent used troubleshoot because couldnt find anything on my problem there or on the internet those my question.

You're welcome. It always pays to remove peripherals when you run into troubles as a way of elimination. ;)
