    Hi,

Been having trouble with my PC to the point where I can no longer get internet access (posting this from my laptop hooked to my work email).

I have run my CA anti virus software and it has located 2 viruses on my system as follows:

    java/ByteVerifyexploit
    jave/ShinwowBJ

While the CA software locates and displays these 2 viruses it does not clean them and remove them. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them and any idea if they are the cause of my internet failure.

Hello and welcome to WindowsBBS Forums.

When you say you no longer have Net access, what was done to develop this problem? Had you run any tools trying to remove the virus at all? Does the tool have any sort of recovery mode to restore what was removed? Please let me know.

Also let me know where, meaning the file path on the system, the virus is allegedly on the system.

Then we'll get some system info to see what else may be going on.

Please download HijackThis! SetUp from here. Save the file to your desktop.

Double-click the HijackThis! SetUp icon to begin the installation. Follow the prompts for the default install location of:'C:\Program Files\HijackThis'. Tick the 'Create a desktop' button when the option appears. Select next, then allow HijackThis! to start.

Then press the [Scan] button. You will notice the [Scan] button will turn into a [Save Log] button. Click the [Save Log] button and notepad will open up with the contents of the scan. Right-click in the saved log, and select 'copy'. Then proceed to your original thread, unless otherwise instructed and click the '[Reply]' button and paste the saved contents to be reviewed. Do not make any modifications to the log or perform any 'fixes' until told to do so.
