This really isn't a client side issue but I was unsure were to post it elsewhere so I posted it here. You guys are great so I figured one of you guys would know what to do with it.

I run a home email server (using hMail server). I haven't had any issues with it at all except one. I can't sync IMAP folders while connected to the same LAN as the mail server. Setting the email up as POP works fine as does connecting to a different network and syncing messages over IMAP.

The short answer is to set the account up as POP and not worry, (I don't really need the extra features of IMAP) but I would like to have the account set up on the Windows 8.1 Mail app (which only uses IMAP). I can download the folders over IMAP on the 8.1 mail app, I just can't sync the contents.

Do any of you have any ideas?

Any error message(s)? The server should report errors or at least log errors. Check the server logs.

Sorry I didn't reply to this soon. The processor fan went out on my server that caused alot more problems then just email. It seems to be working now. On my phone at least. I haven't checked the windows 8 mail app because its not a very good app but i may when I get home tonight. I will mark this as resolved if everything goes smooth tonight
