Hi demassdave. Can you provide some more information about your problem? What happens if you click Start< All Programs< Windows Update< Check for Updates? Can you successfully check for and install any Windows Updates that are available or do you get an error message?

Do you have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 installed?

As you posted in Windows 7 sub-forum guess you are running Windows 7. Suggest you try the following:
    Go to start
    Control Panel
Windows update to see if you can follow the prompts from there

How old is your system and have you been able to download and install Windows updates previously.

    best regards,

So you can install updates if you check for updates but the updates don't install automatically. I wouldn't consider that a big problem since I check for updates every month or so anyway but you can try running the Microsoft Fix It tool from this link, How do I reset Windows Update components.
