    Hi All,

Just got my compaq working with the Xp operating system and my old ati all in wonder 7500. Working fine. I am now finding that my Windows media player version 9.0 that came with Windows Xp home edition will not play any of my mpeg video files. It plays all avi and wmf but not mpeg. Wonder if due to the fact I have not activated the software yet is causing it to do this.

I made all the file assignments properly for the mpg, mpeg to the media player but still won't let me play the mpg/mpeg...any ideas....jongru

    :) Thanks Newt,

Sorry for not responding sooner. I downloaded the Codec checker and found I had one included in a version of Sonic MyDvd. Used it as my preferred decoder and all is well...thank you....jongru

Good to hear. I was hoping the fix was that simple.
