Can't paste new clip art from WORD to PAINT

I regularly insert MS CLIP ART into WORD then paste it into PAINT so that I can modify it to suit. But all of a sudden it won't paste from WORD to PAINT. Anyone any ideas?

Can you paste any other images into Paint for editing?

I'm just so used to doing it I'm finding it difficult to break down what i actually do!

This is the sequence broken down
WORD/ INSERT/ PICTURE/ CLIP ART/ do the search/ double click the piece of clip art and it appears in my WORD document/ select / copy / open PAINT / Edit / Paste

And wouldn't you just know ??!!!???!!! - It's just worked while I was trying to identify the sequence !

I've just tried it again and it's working fine. Don't know what the problem was yesterday. Just one of those days I guess!
