Can't open Regedit.

This is happening to my friends computer....when I open regedit throught the run program, regedit opens for about one second then shuts down. This happens everytime I try and open it. I also tried to do this using command prompt and still the same results. What is going on and is there anything I can do?

 

There are a few viruses out there that cause the problem you're having.

If you don't have an up-to-date anti-virus program installed to run a full system scan, there are free online scans at Housecall and Panda.

Or if this does not help, Could this be caused by not running as Administrator or by some Policy key?
