Recently I've been unable to open or save files in XP professional when I do it direct in a program. If I open files from explorer, its ok. If I do save from a program, its also ok. But if I do file open, or save as, the program just exits immediately without saving or prompts. In IE, if I right-click and click save picture, a box pops up saying an error has occured and IE will close, which it then does. I've found it only happens in one user account, but I really don't want to have to create another account as this is the main admin account! If anyone has ANY ideas or solutions, I'd be very very grateful!
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

Look at your file associations being messed up..possibly.

Nope that aint it. Opening directly in a program causes it to close. Infact file associations are the only things that do work, and thats how I'm managing to open things!
    Thanks for the suggestion though.
