    Hi kdb
Have you figured it out yet ?

I have never heard of that

Why are you disableing system restore ?
Wait -- before doing this for another forum member to confirm..
    I dont know dos enough

If you must the only thing I can think is to do it from Dos,
Boot with a startup disk choose miimul boot at the A prompt
    A:\>( type) SMARTDRV
    press enter
    A:\ deltree(space) C:\_RESTORE
    again press enter
it may take awhile so just wait
until there is no disk activity , then take the floopy out and press Ctrl alt and del at the same time.
when windows starts system restore will recreate its folder and one restore point.
then look here if still unable to get to the area to set system restore
    Google groups IE win me
