    Hi all,

I had a user (User 1) who retired. He had a lot of files in his network drive. His replacement, User 2, started recently.

I created a network drive for User 2 and he can use it perfectly fine.

Inside that, I created a folder called "User 1's Old Files" and moved everything from User 1's old network drive into that for User 2 just in case he needed any of it.

Well, he does, and yet we are getting the following error when he tries to open anything in there.

Huh? He can create new documents in that very folder. He just can't open what's in there now.

    What gives? Help, please? Thanks!

I don't think so. At no time is a password ever asked for. Not really sure what this is. Help!

As the docs were created by a different user you may need to Take Ownership of the files & folder.

I've posted the Google Search link as we don't know the version of Windows Server.

I had already done that, however, I had not:
... And that seems to have done it.
