XP will not turn off ATC PC.
    ATX switch problem.

OK, so I finally give up. I have this PC from a friend that need a switch. I replaced the switch, then 98 would not work correctly. So I loaded XP. Now I have a very nice machine that will not turn off and I can't find drivers for the modem (HSP56 mini) on the motherboard, nor the NIC (Davicom 9102) also on the mother board.
I am getting really frustrated with this, No good deed goes unpunished.
I have tried many different drivers for both. The thing that grabs me is that when I first got the machine she wanted XP on it so I loaded XP first and the NIC worked fine but the thing was and anchor, very slow. She only had a 3gig hard drive and the OS took up almost ½. So she bought a larger hard drive and now I have all these problems.
    HELP

    Hi OLDSALTY,

I'd check the BIOS and if possible turn off the onboard modem and nic; then have the friend purchase separate pci cards which will come with drivers! Violla!
    :D
The cost would be minimal. Look here and here.
