    Hi

I was wanting to lock my output of my Graphics card to my TV but i cannot seem to find where i can lock the scrolling as my TFT is @ 1280 x 1024. This is too big for the TV so therefore i need to lock it.

    Anyone know how??

    Thanks

    Paul

I've only recently started using the nVidia Control Panel. I've used ATI and the Windows dual monitor controls in the past.

You pretty much have two choices, using Dualview or Clone (the other choices are "stretch "). In Dualview you set your primary and secondary display. The primary display has desktop icons and the main taskbar, you then drag a (non full-screen) window across to the secondary display. Using Dualview you can adjust the resolution of each display, BUT you cannot run major graphics programs on the secondary screen (they will only run on the primary).

I don't need to run a window on two screens, so I use Clone for video or game programs and I might turn off the secondary screen. In Clone, you cannot adjust the resolution of each screen (although I saw a section "Add...custom setting ", but I think that means outside of any standard settings).

I think the best you can do is run Dualview depending on which screen you want to set as primary. You can change settings depending on what program you want to run (like changing which screen is primary in Dualview), but it is a little time consuming.

So, for a step by step...
Right click on the nVidia icon in the System Tray.
Go to nVidia Display Settings. Click on the monitor that comes up (it will be the primary).
Drop-down box at the top is the type of display. Select Dualview.
Select which monitor is to be the primary in the next drop-down box.
    Click Apply.
The screens will black out for a second.
You then select which monitor you wish to make changes on by clicking on the picture of the monitor (#1 or #2).
Click the Device Settings>> button and adjust the resolution you want to set for each of the screens (click Apply when you are finished on one, go back and select the other screen if you wish to make changes on that).

As I said, using Dualview, if you want to run a major graphics program on the secondary display, you will need to go to nVidia Display Settings and reverse the primary and secondary monitors (if you find that only the secondary screen works, you will find you not have anything in the taskbar...right click on the desktop and change the settings back...this might happen if the television cannot be used as a primary display...you will then need to use Clone and adjust the resolution for both screens and use one or the other).

Wrong. Any reconfiguration information will show on the primary screen (which you can't see). To get back you will need to swap the monitor connectors on the graphics card's output heads.

Hi, I know how to use the Nvidia settings its just i cannot find the little tickbox that i use to get on my old Nvidia settings that said " Disabled screen-lock on this monitor" which is what i am wanting to do.

Can you find where NVidia has put these settings or know where this tickbox is?
