I'm experimenting with moving my Firefox folder from C:\Program Files to D:\Mozilla\Firefox. I followed JSS3's step-by-step instructions elsewhere in this forum, and sure enough FF still works fine.
BUT, while the other user's account still has the old shortcut icon, in my account, I've lost that. My desktop shortcut is a generic blank Windows icon. And in my Firefox header bar, there's now something red with a splash of orange - I can't tell what it is, maybe red flames with an orange fox tail sticking out the top?
Since the old icon still works for Gary, it must be stored somewhere on this computer. I know I can change the shortcut icon from "Properties ", but I don't know where to tell the computer to look for the icon! And how do I get the old icon back in my header bar instead of this red Rorschach splat?

FYI - I'm using the default chrome/theme/etc; I'm not particularly adventurous in that respect!

Figured out the desktop shortcut business (just have to right-click on firefox.exe in my new Mozilla\Firefox folder, and select "send to desktop ").

But I'm still stuck with the red Rorschach splat on my header/title bar and in FF "open windows" in my taskbar (pardon the improper lingo there, I don't know what those items are called).

    rebecca,

For the icon in the upper left side of the screen (if that's what you're talking about):

Create these folders in your Mozilla Firefox Program folder:

    D:\Mozilla\Firefox\chrome\icons\default

The name of the Firefox icon is: main-window.ico, and I have uploaded the icon here: Firefox Icon

Ensure that you scan the file with your antivirus before unzipping. However, I can assure you of its integrity... ;)

I'm not clear on this icon:

Thank you for the icon, Ramona! It's back in the upper left corner (title bar? header bar?) of my FF screen, and it shows up in the little rectangle that shows up on my taskbar when my FF browser is open. Exactly the way I wanted things to look! :D

    "red Rorschach splat? "

    Rebecca ...

    Picky, picky, picky! :D

You should know by now that I tend to do things a bit differently. To me, FF's default icon looks like roadkill, so I've substituted the old Phoenix/Firebird icon (see screenshot), which I think has a lot more style.

By the same token, the default TB icon looks to me like a man with a bad hairpiece, so I use the old icon ... same as the Phoenix/Firefox icon, except that it's blue.

    Diff'rent strokes ...

LOL, Jim! You kindly offer me your zipped version of FF, and I go and disparage your icon of choice!
My humble apologies for the "dis "!
