Im trying to install the Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB886903).

A dialog box just sits there for hours reading "initializing updates" and never installs. Any idea how to fix this?

I discovered this while trying to update my iTunes and would not update it because it said I needed quicktime. So when I tried to update quicktime I got "an error occured. please try again later. "

    My computer hates me.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

iTunes is being beseiged at the moment with people redeeming iTune gift cards. If it says to try later, it is because its servers are overloaded. Apple has asked people to please be patient.

As for .NET Framework 1.1, download the redistributable an use it for the install. Pay particular attention to the MDAC requirements discussed near the end of this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&displaylang=en

    And see the troubleshooter: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824643
