    Hi there........first time here.

Hmm....it seems that I can't install Netscape 6 & 7 on my XP SP1, though I haven't tried on XP w/o SP1. But I was wondering if anyone has seen this problem where...when the installer just start to copy new files to it's Program folder, just at the very first file (I think it's XCOM or something) immediately a Windows error pops-up and installer exit.

I didn't manage to install Netscape 6 too...same error. However, I manage to install 4.80.

    Any idea? Thanks in advance...

    Welcome to the Forum, Rendy!

    Hi Rendy,

There is a conflict with the ZLIB.DLL file, a common file that can cause the XPCOM error. Most commonly occurring with users who have installed SP1.

Look for it in the Windows XP directory (folder). If found, rename to ZLIB_DLL.BAD. Try installing Netscape again.

Let us know if you continue to have install problems.

I would recommend not installing any Version of Netscape 6. It is now obsolete, buggy, and Netscape 7.x is a superior browser in comparison. FWIW! ;)

Hey...thanks! Managed to install it but have to keep on pressing "OK" cuz it has that zlib.dll error while prior to installing.

    Cheers!
