I use Postbox as my email client on my Windows 7 computer. However, I still like to keep my Outlook Express 6 contacts up-to-date on the same machine. (I'm using a version of OE6 which works with Windows 7).

I have a Contacts LDIF file exported from Postbox and also a Microsoft Office Excel Comma Separated Values Contacts File (.csv). When I try to import either into OE 6 I get the message 'Error in importing address book'.

Has anyone any suggestions which might resolve this problem?

    Thank you.

When in OE and I do File->Import->Contacts-> the ONLY option I see is to import from a .wab file type. So unless you have one of those - you're probably out of luck.

You're correct, Steve. I managed to get a slightly outdated .wab file and that did the job.

    Thanks. :)

Did you try in OE6 - File > Import > Other Address Book > then select from the list in the Address Book Import Tool box which type of file to import?

Yes, I did that with both csv and LDIF contact files but just got the error message "Error in importing address book ".
