HI. I just got a new computer. It's running WIndows 7. I have PSPX installed on my old computer for several years now and I want to transfer it to the new computer.
I went to my account on corel and got my serial number and downloaded PSPX onto the new computer. It instlaled but when i try to run it, it says I have to run it the first time as administrator.
I did this, and then I get a certificate that comes up..I wish I new how to post a pic here cause I'd show it to you..BUt I'll try and describe it.
It's a certificate that says " You're trial membership of Paint shop pro is almost over..then on the right sie there is a circle that says "you have thirty days left in your trial ".
I dont' see anywhere to put in a serial number.
ANd underneath that part there is a blank white spot...the only type there says' Already purchased' (which is true because I bought this several years ago) but that's all it says ,.. not where to put a serial number or anything.
I tried to enlarge the box, scroll around..but it doesn't move...It seems like there might be something to the right side on the bottom where it says already purchased but I can't enlarge the box to see if there any other info there.
So I can't run the program because whenever I do it shows this certificate and I can't go any further..
Since first writing this above, I asked around in PSP forum and they told me to try installing the patches..but that didn't work either.
So, I uninstalled everything and reinstalled...this time I can see that where the type "already purchased" was before, there is now a button that says "already purchased ", and on the other side, where I said I thought I saw something..there is now a button that says, "start trial ".
So, I tried to click on the "already purchased" button and it said I had to be an admistrator to use this button although I was lready logged in as aministrator..So, I tried to "start trial" button and it bought me into the program.
That was great but I was still in trial mode..So then I closed it down, and later on when I tried to start the program again..The buttons were gone!..It was back to being just type that I could't click on.:(
So i'm relaly confused...Obviously PSPX could work on my system because it was working that one time that the buttons showed up and I got inside using the trial mode.
BUt then then the buttons dissapeard, and i never was able to use it as an already purchased product. Or find a way to put my serial number in. I'm hoping I can find a way to get nto this program with my serial number..I really don't have the money to buy an updated verions of the same product..I just spent every cent I had on my new computer!
Anyway if you know of anything that might help please let me know.
Sorry for the long explaination but I've been trying to make this work for hours and I wantd to make sure you knew what I tried doing and what the results were..
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
    Sue

    On old computer...

    From Jasc site:

    Installation Instructions

    1. Locate the installation file for Paint Shop Pro X: Corel_PaintShopPro1000_EN_PREMIUMCD_Retail.exe. This file might be located in your My Documents folder or on your Windows Desktop. Use the Windows Search function (Start | Search | All Files and Folders) to search for the file if you're having trouble finding it. When searching, input the beginning of the file name, e.g. Corel_PaintShop
    2. Double Click on the Corel_PaintShopPro1000_EN_PREMIUMCD_Retail.exe file to begin the installation process.
    3. You should see a Thank you for downloading the FREE Trial of Paint Shop Pro X. Proceed through the installation screens until you've successfully installed the software.
    4. Launch the software after you've completed the installation and you should be presented with a Thank you for purchasing screen that contains an Activate Now button. Select the Activate Now button to complete the installation process. Proceed with the next set of instructions if the Thank you for Purchasing screen does not appear.
