I'm taking an online class at Blackboard. I can access all parts of the site w/ Netscape 6.2 except for the actual class chat. When I try, a warning box pops up labeled: java.lang.SecurityException and says: illegal relative URL. I can use the chat on Explorer but I am frequently dumped out of the chat and all areas of the sight are generally sluggush. It seems like Netscape runs it better if I can only get rid of this glitch. Thanks for any help.

(This may be answeed on the Netscape bookmark page - but not in language I can understand!)

    Welcome to the Forum!

    Hi eikcaj,

    Check this site:

    http://www4.desales.edu/~drs2/onlinecourses/problems.htm

It seems that Netscape 6 is problematic, and it is suggested that using Communicator would be a better alternative:

Browser Problems - [Login Error - Error launching classroom] Don't feel as though you're the only one with browser version issues. Even the National Science Foundation has experienced problems with Netscape 6 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5.

You can download Communicator 4.79 HERE
