    Anyway
what i wanted to post is this ....
whenever i type in www.google.com the page opens and all is well.... but when i type... www.google.co.uk ... all i get is PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED...

    The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
    click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

Cannot find server or DNS Error
    Internet Explorer

Any Ideas as to why i cannot go to Google.co.uk

    Thanks

    Hello dmorg!

I can´t help You resolving Your issue but I´ve got a tip for this:

Compile and type Your message in a word editor such as Notes or Wordpad. When You´re finished, connect to the internet, go to the site, copy and paste what You´ve written to the message.

It´s much quicker if there´s a problem with the connection.

    Regards,
    Christer

Your link to Google UK works fine for me - and I am in UK

Which version of IE are you using and with which OS?

dmorg--There could have been a temporary server problem at www.google.co.uk (BTW I can reach the Google UK site.
But if this persists, do you have a HOSTS file? (NOT HOSTS.sam)
If so open it and see if www.google.co.uk is in it. There are spyware programs that write to the HOSTS file these days.
The standard answer for "Page cannot be displayed" is
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;241344
but since you can reach other sites, I suspect these solutions will not help.
Regarding the IE error message when you are posting to Windows BBS, is this the only forum where you have the problem? When you get the error message, note that there is a button on that window to "Click Here ". That will display the actual error/problem. Copy and Paste here.
