I posted a few days ago where I could not change from 16 color and 620x480 pixels, I was told that my video driver was corrupt so I updated it and that fixed that problem. I noticed about a day later that I did not have any audioas well. I tried updating the driver through "system" under control panel, and downloading new drivers but nothing has worked. Video files in windows media player will play but with out sound. When I try to play an audio file in winamp I get a "Nullsoft waveout plug-in v2.02(x86) error" it says "MMsystem002 A device ID has been used that is out of the range for your system." Anyone know what else I can try doing? Thanks

Hi Pearldrum (good moniker, if I may say so)
If you use this board's search facility, you will find some references to
that error. Have a read of them.
Personally, I always say something (eg an app install) has altered the
    sound section of system.ini.
    regards

Some other possible causes could also be:
]A problem with your sound drivers, as you suspected.
]Or a problem from within "winamp's plug-in dropdown configuration ". It may have picked the wrong driver plug-in for palying waves (mp3's) that may "not be compatible to" or "beyond the ability of" your soundcard . See the following links and sublinks for information needed to run through the check-ups for winamp:

The Winamp forum above sounds like a site you may wish to check out, just please (pretty please) remember to come back and share the fix that worked for you. If you are still unable to find the cure, give a yell and another closer look at your repair options can be done.
