I just did a fresh install from XP to 7.

I have a motherboard out of a Gateway e2100, and a Radeon 4670 AGP dual DVI video card, which dual-monitored swimmingly on XP.

Now with 7, I can't get it to recognize anything other than the "standard VGA adapter" and it won't "see" the 2nd monitor, even though both are plugged into the AGP card, and I get the exact same thing on both monitors.

Again, I have made NO hardware changes.. ONLY the OS...

Is this a Mobo driver issue? I've installed all the chipset drivers Gateway has for the unit.

    HELP!

    I have... ish...

Which is to say, I've done it, and it said it completed... but in XP I'm used to seeing Catalyst show up in the programs, and it isn't there...
I also see no change in anything after it's done.

I assume Microsoft .Net framework is installed on your system? I don't think Catalyst will work without it.

A small matter - the Gateway e2100 manual, page 186 indicates 3 PCI slots - no mention of AGP.

Also the Radeon 4600 series require a PCI Express slot - see here

Are you sure that you have identified the card correctly?

Believe me, I'm beginning to wonder... This was a corporate edition PC that does have an AGP, verified. Twice. (lol)

But.. I've stumbled upon success! While uselessly staggering around the Device manager, I noticed an Intel Proc to AGP driver under System Devices... let windows auto-update it, un-installed all the ATI stuff, then re-installed.

I now have a recognized AGP card and Catalyst, including Dual-mon control.

Thank you guys for the help... it caused me to poke around enough to find it.. I wouldn't have otherwise.

Good to hear things are clicking again.

You sound like me...prodding & probing in an unorthodox manner. :)
