Can't format in XP

    Have made copy of start up floppy for XP. At start up with floppy inserted at the A: promt have typed Format: C but message 'bad command or file name' appears and I am unable to proceed any further. What is required to format the hard drive

    Hello warton and welcome,

    Boot the XP cd and follow the set up procedure. You'll be asked to format the partition and the size and the number of partitions.
