I Am In The Middle Of Doing A Clean Reinstall Of W98 Se With
The Boot Floppy, And Os Cd.
I Have Partioned And Formatted The Hard Drive, And Created
    A Partition.
I'm Stuck At Formatting The Drive:
After Putting In The Boot Disk And Typing :format C: /s At The
A Prompt, I Get A Message Saying Bad Command.
I Downloaded Another Disk From Bootdisk.com And It Does The
    Same Thing.

    Thanks.

Is that what you are typing? Should be simply format c: /s

Watch carefully when the bootdisk is starting. It will tell you the drive letter of the RAM Drive. At the A:\ prompt, change to the drive stated and then type your format command. The Format program is not in the root of A:\.

You can also enter Dir /w at the A:\ prompt and it will tell you what is on the A:\.

    Yes, That's What I Typed:
    "format C: /s "

I'm Doing This At Work(don't Tell My Boss).

When I Get Home I'll Try To Change To The Drive Stated.

    Thanks. Bill.

Leave off the /S switch. Installing 98 will take case of that part.

I think you should start the computer in Safe Mode, and remove these and all duplicates. I believe #2 and #3 are belongs to your modem. #1 appears to be a USB Hub, remove the device from the computer until the modem is installed.
    1. Intel Film Lab Hub
    2. Pci Comm Device
    3. pci Multimedia Audio Device
Shut down and remove modem from computer and then boot the computer. Shut down and then install modem. Have the CD handy.
If you used a MS windows CD, and not a Dell Recovery CD, did you install the motherboard drivers first?
When you install a USB device, you must install the device drivers before you plug it in.

Sorry guys, but this thread is getting way off topic here, getting to be borderline abusive, and we haven't heard back from Richard99. Rather than edit the thread, I'll just close it.

Admin: I've deleted most of the off-topic & abusive posts. This will stay closed. If Richard99 needs more help, please open a new topic.

Maverick & Rockster2U should consider their behavior.
