    *Please* can anyone help?

    JETWAY 663AS Ultra Mobo

I've been trying to flash this mobo since last year, and when i do, all I get is red (unsuccessful) blocks in the AWDFLASH update meter. I've tried different versions of AWDFLASH and different BIOS revision images, but always the same outcome.

Does anyone know if there is a write-protect on this BIOS, or just let me know if you've successfully flashed this BIOS... or anything I could try... ANYTHING?!?!?!

    Thanks in advance

    FYI - the tech specs:
    BIOS Date: 03/12/01
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PGN
    BIOS ID: 03/12/2001-8363A-686A/B-6A6LMJ19C
    BIOS Eval: V.663AS_ULTRA A01 03-12-2001
    Chipset: VIA 82C305 rev 3
Superio: VIA 686 rev 64 found at port 7h

My Iwill mboard has a setting in the BIOS that enables or disables the ability to flash it. If it's not set to flashable then I can't flash the BIOS regardless of what program or bios revision I use.

I have also seen some m-boards that have a jumper that performs a similiar function. The jumper had to be moved before the BIOS could be flashed.

It sounds as though something is limiting your access to the BIOS. I'd try looking for either of those two items I mentioned.

    Gary / Ice,

Thanks for that, but sadly I forgot to mention I've looked into both of those things...

There's nothing in the BIOS* and there's nothing on the mobo*, or the manual for that matter....
    (*That I can see!!!)

PleasePleasePlease can anyone come up with anything else?

I desperately want upgrade my CPU and to reinstall windows, but as you'll see from the Jetway website, I can't install WinXP from scratch with a GeForce card (originally I had a Voodoo3)...

I just want to know if it is:

    a) something I'm doing wrong
    b) some protection that I've missed
    c) a prob with the bios / mobo

OK, 2 of those options are my fault, but still, I'd like to know!!!

    TIA

PS - I've e-mailed Jetway 5 times, even begging them for a response.... ...you can guess the rest!!!
