Cant connect to ethernet or wireless?

    Hello i recently clean installed xp professional after having troubles with infections. Since the clean install i cannot connect to the internet from both methods, I have an ASUS laptop but not sure which model any help would be appreciated

    After you installed Windows did you install the Chipset and other drivers for the pc? You either got a cd for them or you can get em from ASUS's web site.

    No i did not, unfortunately i had to download a clean install.. Where can i get these drivers from and how could i transfer them from my computer to my laptop? thanks in advance!

    You can download them from ASUS's web site....Copy em to a flash drive or cd.

    Ok i downloaded a few of them but it still hasn't enabled wireless or allow me to use an ethernet cable! What are these "chip sets" ?

    Chipset drivers give support for the core functions of the motherboard.
    Did you download and install the network drivers for your particulat asus?
    What model is this comp?

    i downloaded a few of them like the wireless, Lan, Modem drivers but there doesn't seem to be a difference, i have an ASUS A7Cc, if i downloaded the VGA driver would that make a diffrence as it seems to be the largest file size

    VGA is the video driver. It won't affect networking but yes, you should install it.
