I have win 98 and have been using ie6 for several months now without any problems.
I was using ie and the text size changed smaller.
When I go to "View" and the menu drops down, some have arrows that another menus pop out. One is "Text Size." All others with arrows work fine except the text size. No other menu pops out on that one. It used to have "smallest, smaller, X (Can't remember), larger, largest."
I have checked for virus and spyware and it comes up cleen. How can I fix this? Thank you, Chris.

P.S. At about the same time, my delete on the keyboard stoped working.

    Hello Chris,

    Try this:

Double click on IE 6 in the Add/Remove applet. There you will be presented with the choice of doing a repair.

IE 6 is different to it's predecessors - at least in XP - and the repair function is different too.

Internet Explorer 818529 is a critical update to resolve (yet another) security problem.

To repair IE 6 in XP the method is given in this KB article
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318378

No doubt the same applies to 98 - maybe?

    Hi Chris,

You're running 98, IE 6 is an "add on ". There must be an entry that says "IE6 and internet tools ". If you really don't, post back. At that point, the only recourse that I can think of is installing it again so that you will have an Add/Remove entry.

"internet explorer 818529." sounds like a patch to IE6.

    Regards - Charles

Found the repair, I was looking right at it when I couldn't find it. It said it could not be repaired. I will try to reinstall it. Thanks for the help. Chris.

I went to download ie6 again. It won't download. I guess that's another problem I'm having, can't download anything. Not sure what to do now.

I guess I'll have to post again.

Hi Chris- You can get to the Internet Explorer Repair Tool another way. Go to Start|Run and type in : msinfo32.exe (without the colon). This will bring up the System Information utility. From the Tools menu, select the Internet Explorer Repair Tool and run it. Good luck! Clydeo22.
