Can't change my IE start-up page???

Hello, this has never happened to me. I have a Dell E510 Dimension PC. I have always been able to change my "Start Page" to whatever I wanted. Well for whatever reason I can't do it. I for instance will try to set My Yahoo for my default page but Dells startup page is always loading now.
I open IE 6.0 /Tools/Internet Options/Use Current for Yahoo. No matter if I type it or click the button, it shows like it will load next time but soon as I click on "Home" Dells start page pops up..

PAUL DEP--Do you use Spybot? Perhaps it has locked your home page.

There are other programs that lock the homepage. I have been too lazy to look them up.
Usually a change in Homepage could signal that you have malware, but I find it hard to believe that Dell would do that.

I'm so surprised at Dell/Google for pulling this off I won't give up but for time being I'm using Mozilla Firefox

One other (remote) possibility, if you have the latest version of Zone Alarm free firewall: versions 6.5.xxx lock the home page in IE6 on some systems (including mine), though it's meant to, it's a bug. v 6.1.xxx and earlier are OK. However that would not have caused it to change to the Dell page.

 

The value in the \Main key is Start Page, rather than STARTPAGE
