I have no internet access at all even though I'm connected. It started shortly after stopping the DNS cache service in Agnitum outpost firewall. At first I could view my website. Then it was a few websites. Then it was the whole internet. I decided to format as i could not be bothered troubleshooting this one. Now I'm running XP SP1 still with outpost firewall and the same problem is occuring. Uninstalling the firewall makes no difference. I need some serious help here.

Forgot to mention I am connected to ADSL via router with another PC that has no problems at all.

Finally found the problem. The second PC here is still running with the DNS server settings from the old ISP. I changed to the new one and all of a sudden no internet again. So I changed mine to the old one and it works again. Is common for DNS Servers to go down? I have to call my ISP now to find out what is going on.

Not "common ", but it happens. Most ISP's have at least 2 DNS servers for just that reason.

Just FYI. You might want to look at TreeWalk (formerly BIND-PE). It is a standalone DNS server that runs as a service on your PC. You don't need outside DNS servers that way. It is fast since it caches lookups and updates its data automatically.
