Resolved canon LiDE scanner color malfunction

Canon LiDE 600F flatbed scanner

A few years old but still scans b&w very well.
But won't scan color.

It was scanning color until a few weeks ago, but then I started getting virus warnings about a file connected with the canon suite of programs.

I have restored these files, but the color scans are still bad.

The scans are sometimes streaked with color, sometimes solid blue.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

It is connected to the Windows XP Home detailed in my profile.

Any suggestions appreciated.

 

Hi, I can only suggest you uninstall Software and if you Google your Canon Model, there is a updated Download of Driver Software available.
A new install of fresh software is worth a try. Neil.

I have checked the Canon website and there is a driver, but I have not downloaded it because I am not yet sure it the driver for the function.

I changed the configuration in the scanning settings from "user defined" to "default"

and I changed the application from PDF to one of Canon's bundled applications.

For some reason one of these changes worked.

So now instead of a pdf the scan is opened as an image file, then I can convert it back to a pdf with dopdf-7.exe.
