I have a canon 2000 printer that took in a wad of paper and now it will not work. Got it to print a page but now it just gives me an out of paper prompt. Is this an easy repair or is it a throwaway item?
    Thank You

Sounds like the paper sensor is missing or broken. I don't know about that particular printer but I've come accross this problem on a couple of my HP printers.

On the HP's there is a little plastic lever that occasionally comes off and the printer keeps insisting there is a paper jam when there isn't one. The same lever decides if there is paper in the tray as well.

It's most likely an easy repair, but the repairmen generally charge a minimum of 1 hour labor which can get quite pricey. I guess it really depends on how much it would cost to replace the printer as opposed to repairing it.

If you decide to tackle it yourself the decision may be made for you if you find you can't get it back together again :D
