In the last 5 months I have had to replace 2 video cards which my computer is frying somehow, and now I am getting an error: Cannot write to drive c: , on the big blue screen, this happens every time I try dowloading.. Sometimes the error comes quick or sometimes it will let me d/l for half a day or so, I lose all my files that were in the process of d/ling. do I need a new hard drive? is it something else maybe?

I would run a thorough scandisk and see what it reports. But frying 2 video cards, might be a lot more wrong than just the hard drive, power supply, motherboard, etc.

Have you opened up the case and cleaned it out? Vacuum and make sure vents are clear. If you can manage to get a complete download, get Motherboard Monitor and Drive Health. They may help you discover your problem area. In the meantime, try a download manager. Will resume most downloads where they left off.

Might be the power supply spiking and then corrupting the hard drive and sending too much voltage to the video cards.
Does this happen in safe mode?
Do you live near a power sub station?
