I recently was testing out my HP laptop in advance of a presentation. I had attached a video projector and it showed all my windows screens without a problem and played my planned power point presentation without a hitch.

But when I went to Windows media player and tried to project portions of a DVD, the screen was black.

I exited out of full screen and the background and desktop were visible on the projected image but the video was missing.... just a black screen where it should have been.

However on my laptop screen, the video was showing.

I tried playing the same video with WinDVD, Real Player and Quicktime, all with the same results. It would show on my laptop screen but not the projector screen.

    Any suggestions, hints, ideas?

    Bill :(

Many apps like this can only be viewed on the "Primary" monitor....

You might be able to go into display properties and turn offf the "extend" option and then make the projector the "primary" monitor...

** Note that you might have some issues with this...You will only be able to use the projector etc....
