I sent the following information to Netscape for their $9.95 solution and they were useless.

"Using Netscape 7.2, recently installed after using 4.7 for
years. Can send email to individuals - no problem, but
cannot send to a "List ". Get the following Alert - "An
error occurred while sending mail. The mail server
responded: < "Name Of List ">: recipient address must contain
a domain. Please verify that your email address is correct
in your Mail preferences and try again." Have verified with
Earthlink that addresses for outgoing mail are correct.
They agree that there is a problem, but will not discuss
Netscape, so here I am. "

I have sent emails to all the individuals on my lists to verify their validity but still cannot mail to a group. Help

Did you create the list in Netscape7.2? File|New|Mailing List, and you select where you wanted it to be. I actually imported the address books which I had saved as .ldif files from early Netscapes, and they work fine. If you try to use an entire Address Book, it won't work.

I imported the address book from NS 4.7 and have also created duplicate lists from scratch in 7.2 and none of them work. I'm totally baffled. I don't think anything is wrong with the mail setup since I have no problem sending and receiving individual emails.

I did a test importing as .ldif file an address book, which contained a list, and also an address book which had been used in a list in another program. The one which contained the list, as a subaddressbook worked fine, while the other one did not. I was able to create a list, which was a sub addressbook, also, and dragged and dropped all the addresses into it. A copy of the same address existed in the main address book. And, the newly created list worked fine.
All list a visible by clicking on a + to the left of the main address book. If you see this, I don't know why it would act up.
I don't have any list in my 4.8, so I would not know what it would do.
I will try to create a list, tomorrow, and see what happens, by Importing the address book from Communicator, as well as importing .ldif file. Both ways should work.

I wiped out NS 7.2 and installed 7.0. Still cannot send to a list, either imported or created. Gives the same error message, "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responder: <Name of List>: recipient address must contain a domain. Please check the message recipients and try again." All the addresses in the List have domain names or they couldnt be sent individually. Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?
    Thanks
    Preston
