cannot update at windows update site

cannot download updates from windows update sight manually or automatic.
receive error code 80246008.

80246008 solution

I have been having trouble with the BITS problem in windows update SP2 for weeks

Solution as follows

download Bitsadmin tool from the microsoft website

then Start run cmd then type bitsadmin /util /repairservice /force

reboot

this will reinstall the bits service then update away

you can also get bitsadmin from your windows cd

support/tools/support.cab

just open with winzip extract bitsadmin and put in windows directory and do as previous thread
