Windows Vista Cannot Uninstall With Vista

    I recently purchased a laptop and it has Vista installed as the operating system. Today I installed Nero Burning Rom v7 and after the installation was complete I got a dialog saying this software is not compatable with the version of Windows on my system. I tried to uninstall it using both the control center uninstaller and and the Nero uninstaller and both refused to uninstall the program. I tried to just delete the Nero folder and it would not allow that either. Anyone know what to do or of a program to power the folder off.

    Hi Ken. Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

    Download and run the portable version of revo uninstaller from here, Revo Uninstaller. After you download the portable version of Revo, extract the contents and run the program. When you run it find the Nero program in the list and select uninstall. See if that option works.

    If it doesn't work then you are going to have to remove the program manually. You will have to take ownership of the Nero folder in C:/Program Files and then try and delete it. Read this, How to take ownership of a file or folder in Vista. :cool:

    Thanks for the help. Problem was fixed using a program called "Unlocker ".
