I cannot see flash objects in internet explorer 6 (winXP).

I removed the macromedia flash object and the activeX object from the objects browser.

All security/privacy settings are low. There is no firewall/antivirus running. (hardware firewall but all other PC's on network hav no problems)

I can install "shockwave player" fine, but nothing happens when I go to the "flash player" download page on the macromedia website.

    http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/triggerpages_mmcom/flash.html

I am supposed to see a dialog box asking me if I want to instal and run "macromedia flash player 7 ". but I don't get any such prompt. The page simply finishes loading without downloading flash.

    I'v tried in safemode.
