When I check off the Run checkdisk option for Error Checking under the tools tab (so it can run checkdisk during next bootup) the menu fails and I'm thrown out.

Partition Magic failed to run and told me there are file system errors, and in fact there have been various bizarre errors while running in Win 2000 which developed recently.

The partition uses FAT32 in case you would like to know.

Is there some way of running checkdisk manually during bootup???

I need to repair these problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dan:confused:

    start~run~cmd

chkdsk n: /f (where n is the drive you want to check) or
chkdsk n: /r (if you want to include all possible checks and a surface scan)

These will run immediately if you are running them on a disk that isn't doing anything critical (like the OS or a pagefile or similar) but otherwise will ask about running at next boot.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried it but it said access denied when I ran from

    c:\

and did not offer to run it later!!

So I will reboot Win2000 to command prompt and try it there. Hope that works

    :) It's all fixed thanks.

The actual problem was that even though
the user had admin priviliges, because he was logged into a domain --somehow the local admin priviliges were overriden. Is this normal or did someone ***** up when they configured the domain login???

When I logged in as the local administrator - setup prior to setting up the domains (for Citrix use) by someone else --I was able to schedule checkdisk to work on next bootup. The checkdisk fixed the file system errors and everythings fine now.

    :)

    Thanks,

    Dan
